Community Conversation


We invite all LGBTQIA+ members, allies, and healthcare providers living and working in Shenandoah County to join this conversation and discuss healthcare experiences, concerns, and resources within your community.


“The Pride of Rural Virginia” project is a grant-funded initiative to address LGBTQIA+ health & healthcare priorities in rural areas across Virginia.


 Who Should Participate

  • Folks that identify as LGBTQIA+ who are excited to are excited to improve health access, quality of care, and resources for the LGBTQIA+ community
  • Folks that are in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community or identify as an ally/advocate who are excited to improve health access, quality of care, and resources for the LGBTQIA+ community

  • Health providers that identify as LGBTQIA+ and/or are excited to improve health access, quality of care, and resources for the LGBTQIA+ community

The purpose of this project is to elevate the knowledge and ideas of the LGBTQIA+ community. We also welcome folks that want to support the community. It is important to note that these are “action forward” conversations. Therefore, if your response to this project is “about time,” “I’ve been doing this work and want to help out” or “I’ve been searching for opportunities to get involved” - welcome!
